How We Handle Your SMS Data

1. Information we collect

  • Identifiers: name, email address, mobile phone number, ZIP code, and address if provided.
  • Consent records: SMS consent status, consent text, consent text version, timestamp, source URL, IP address, and user agent.
  • Message records: delivery status, replies, HELP and STOP requests, timestamps, and link-click data.
  • Supporter data: signup interests, volunteer interests, donor/supporter status, and campaign engagement.

2. How we use information

We use subscriber SMS information to send supporter and donor updates, event or volunteer updates, candidate information, voter guides, get-out-the-vote reminders, fundraising solicitations, political advocacy messages, occasional supporter surveys, service messages, HELP responses, STOP confirmations, and compliance records.

3. Sharing

We share SMS data with service providers that help operate the program, including SMS platforms, CRM providers, analytics providers, and compliance vendors. They may use the data only to provide services to AFWH. We may also disclose information if required by law.

We do not sell or share mobile opt-in information or phone numbers with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for their marketing.

4. Retention

We retain SMS opt-in and consent records for at least six years for compliance purposes. We retain opt-out records indefinitely as a suppression list so we do not re-contact numbers that have opted out.

5. Your choices
